våbenskjold

Shortly past the community centre in no. 21(appears in the background) we find the preserved no. 29.

The streetside was built for Marcus Hansen in 1741, whereas the other wing is from the 1760-ies only.

No. 39 was built around the same time for Hinrich Christiansen, whereas the left neighbour(no. 37) is from 1744.

There's a bit more history behind the no. 42 just across the street. It's called "Bødlens Hus"(Executioner's House) because the town's last executioner, Hinrich Christoffer Röseler, had it built for home in 1768. After his death the job was joined to the executioner of Tønder.

We end this first visit in Nygade with Jürgen Thomsen's house in no. 44 from 1740.
We turn left along "St. Pottergade"(Great Potter Street).
