Like with so many other malls, you are to ignore the ground floor to enjoy the architecture.

But then you find worthy representatives of the civic architecture from about 1900. Here f. inst. nos. 10-12. The former is known as Tårnborg("Tower Castle"), the latter Volmerhus from 1901.

A short trip down to the left along Kirkestræde("Church Narrow" - formerly known as Pottemagergade("Potter Street")) presents us with this building.

It's Bruun's Wharehouse from the 1820-ies.

Danmarksgade terminates with Landsoldaten, and the street sharing the name is occupied by I. P. Schmidt junior's merchant yard and cigar factory from 1772 - now in use as pensioners' home.
We turn towards the fortifications.
