
Considering the number of narrow paths and alleyways the town posess, it seems somewhat strange, the comparatively broad street got the name "Slippen"(The Pass).

No. 4 wasn't built until 1853-54 after the fire that ravaged the street in 1842. It marks an impressive termination on the opposite street, "Bjergerlav"(Salvage Guild).

From the other end of the street we're looking along the preserved row. Salvation of ships was in the hands of the town since about 1700, until the the private salvation association was created 1909.
