våbenskjold

On the corner we find H. P. Hanssen's house.

The house has more historical than architectural value as H. P. Hanssen was one of the Danish leaders through the German period.

But both in his times and in posterity he was overshadowed by the resident in no. 3 "Persillegade"(Parsley Street): Franziska Enge(1805-81) - or as she was affectionately known - Maiden Fanny. Persistent rumours claim her to be an illegitimate daughter of Christian VIII but no proof has ever materialized. Her position as wise woman on the other hand is undisputed. The house itself was built for Arent Scheuer in 1752.

Persillegade passes unnoticed into "Forst Allé"(Forrest Avenue), and flanking the first adjoining street we find "Hjørnehusene"(The Corner Houses). They were the first houses on the street called "Callesensgade"(Callesen Street) named after Hinrich Callesen, who owned a motor factory at the other end of the street.
We continue with Nygade.
